About Thompson’s Black Rock Park

Tucked away on Clayton Lake is one of the most beautiful spots in the region. Thompson’s Black Rock Park is located on part of a 350-acre family owned and operated campground and cottage rental business on the west shore of Clayton Lake in the heart of beautiful Lanark County.

This cottage rental and campground is rich in family history. The park was created in the summer of 1964 to help supplement the small farm income and was originally called Thompson’s Cottages, before transitioning to Thompson’s Black Rock Park in 2002.

The park consists of six fully furnished cottages and private campsites to rent weekly from May to October. Also available to guests is a boat launch, sand beach, playground, walking trails and park store.

Visit this piece of paradise in summer and fall to camp, cottage, or wander the trails to a beautiful lookout and discover why it is so beloved to many generations of families.
